Overview
The secondary programme comprises Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
In Key Stage 3, students progress with the Cambridge Lower secondary curriculum for the subjects English, Mathematics, Science, Global Perspectives, Art, Music and Physical Education. Students now focus on learning Malay as a Foreign Language and have options of different levels for Mandarin.
From Year 8 onwards, students are required to bring their own digital devices to support seamless integration of technology into daily learning. Year 7 students are provided access to school-owned tablets and laptops through our dedicated CodeBusters Room. To equip students with essential future-ready skills, our ICT curriculum features CodeIT—a program developed in collaboration with Code School Finland, grounded in Finnish educational pedagogy and focused on building practical digital competencies for the modern workplace.
In Key Stage 4, the focus shifts to the IGCSE’s which are taken at the end of Year 11. Students select a combination of 9 subjects, which are broad based and cater to their abilities and interests. There is an increased focus on application of knowledge and higher order thinking, in keeping with the requirements of the IGCSE’s. As a STEM based school we offer the Science Practical (Paper 5) in the IGCSE examinations.
At the secondary level there is an increased emphasis on STEM with the introduction of the Cambridge Science Competition, ICAS and the Mathematics Olympiad.
